The 14th-century bascinet is an ideal helmet for a heavily armoured mounted medieval knight. It was significantly popular among medieval armies because of its versatility and a perfect balance between protection and mobility. Just attach one of our chainmail aventails (sold separately) to its vervelles, and you will get an optimum combination for your next LARP or reenactment, offering a great look and protection.

This gorgeous, historic reproduction is HANDMADE from sturdy 14-gauge mild steel, lined with a comfortable and secure padded liner. A large circumference of 68 cm makes it fit almost all head sizes. Note: This product is carefully coated with a layer of oil when packaged that acts as a temporary (protective) layer against corrosion (rust), which can easily be wiped off using any oil remover or even a dry cloth.
